ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in a small mill city in the Northeast, Judith Larmay has been painting and writing since age nine. In the late 1950's she studied for three years at Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, majoring in Oil Painting. More recently, after re-entering academia for five years, has gleaned a Bachelor's degree in Visual Art/Creative Writing from Bradford College, Haverhill, MA.
Art and literature have been Judith's lifelong preoccupations. After a twenty-year pause to marry and raise two daughters, in1978 her creative spark was rekindled. Larmay has since been producing fine-art, non-stop, and began writing seriously after graduating from Bradford College. She lives happily with her husband of sixty-one years; writes, paints, teaches, and markets her artwork and books through galleries and from her home studio and personal website.
Judith states: "One of my artistic goals is to re-introduce to the new millennium a Classical perception of beauty and a reinstatement of hope and awe. It is my belief that significant art, whether it be visual or literary, must ultimately offer not only newness and skill, but also inspiration and soul. If my creative efforts bring the viewer/reader to a place of contemplation and calm delight, then I have achieved my personal goal as an artist."
"Like 'The Hound Of Heaven,' images and words pursue me and will not let go until they ultimately enter my world of paint and paper." Judith Larmay welcomes one and all to her sacred space where holy Presence abides ... to her creative place of ideas that she affectionately calls 'Wondershire'. There, all is fertile and wondrous ground, tendered by a mighty and loving Hand. "I am on assignment," Judith says ... "it's just that way for me."
